Character Types.

Vladmir Propp came up with a list of the main character types in different kinds of media.
His character types were:

• The Hero - they push the narrative further and are key to how it evolves.
• The Villain - they conflict with the hero.
• The Heroine - offers reward or prize to the hero.
• The Authority Figure - like a father figure, gives hero reward for completion of the quest or goal in the narrative.
• Helper - side kick to the hero, helps them through the narrative.
• Donor - usually gives something of significance to the hero.
• Mentor - teaches the hero, guides them.

Most of these character types can be found in a lot of different media types; films, tv shows, games etc..
